Creating New Projects

Once a concept has been created and you are ready to start exploring product development, you can create a Project for those completed concepts to turn them into Quotes and Orders.

  • To create a New Project, select the blue + in the upper left

    • Name the Project(required)

    • Select the associated Program (optional)

    • Select the Freight Terms (optional)

  • Once a Project has been created, we can begin to add those product concepts to begin sourcing.

    • Currently, you can only Add Products to a Project from the Catalog or Create Products (see the create and add buttons below)

    • While the Catalog remains the source of truth, we recommend creating a separate Category for products that are still in-development

    • Later on, you can choose to override the information in the Catalog with the final version and its sourcing, or keep them separated

  • Selecting to Create a Product will open up the following panel, allowing you to input information.

    • Since the Product will only exist in this workspace of the PLM, the Item# is required

  • Selecting the option to Add will take you to the Catalog menu, where you can select a single product or several products to add to the Project

    • From this screen, you can also use filters and tags to help sort and filter through your catalog to find the product/s you wish to add

    • When you have selected the products you want, select the Add Products button to add them to the Project

  • Once Products have been added, you can perform the following actions (from left to right):

    • Add Tags

    • Export with standard or custom reports

    • Save the products back to the Catalog, creating new products or overwriting existing products

    • Assign Workflows by selecting individual Products or in bulk, and assign the Workflow that suits the process needed.

    • Remove the products from the Project

    • Arrange the Products to show in a specific order

    • Create/Add more products

    • Edit Data - will open up a table that allows you to edit (the table view is the same as the Project Table in the Page Views)

    • While Bulk Edit allows you to update a single field with the same data for all Products

In the main view, you can switch between the Card View, Table View, or, if Workflows are assigned, the Workflow view.

Once the Products are finalized, we can start sending out Requests for Quotes.
