Connect Surefront to ChatGPT or Claude

Connect Surefront to ChatGPT or Claude through a custom Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection. Setup options depend on the platform, plan, workspace permissions, and Surefront account configuration.

Before you connect

  1. The Surefront MCP endpoint is https://ai.surefront.com/mcp. Ask Surefront Support to enable your platform connection and provide its public OAuth client ID. Surefront must register the platform’s exact sign-in callback before sign-in can finish. You do not need to enter a client secret.
  2. Use only the MCP address and authentication details provided for your Surefront connection. Do not paste a client secret, password, or token into a chat.
  3. Check the current platform requirements and your workspace permissions. In Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner or Primary Owner may need to add the organization connector before members can connect.

Connect from ChatGPT

  1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT. Select the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Enter a name and description for the connection.
  3. Enter https://ai.surefront.com/mcp as the MCP endpoint and configure the authentication method as instructed by Surefront Support for your account.
  4. Review the risk warning and acknowledge it to continue.
  5. Select Create as a plugin and review the discovered tools and metadata.
  6. Install the resulting plugin. Start a new conversation, type @, and select the Surefront plugin.

ChatGPT's custom MCP creation and publishing options depend on your plan and workspace permissions. Admins or owners may need to create and publish the connection.

Connect from Claude

Individual Pro or Max account:

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Select + Add → Add custom connector.
  3. Enter a name and the Surefront MCP URL https://ai.surefront.com/mcp, then continue.
  4. Review the detected authentication settings. Enter the public OAuth client ID supplied by Surefront Support in Advanced settings when needed; no client secret is required.
  5. Select Add. Then select Connect to authenticate.

Team or Enterprise account: an Owner or Primary Owner first adds the connector in organization settings. After it is configured, open Customize → Connectors, find the Surefront connector, and select Connect.

To use the connector in a conversation, open the + menu and enable Surefront under Connectors.

Check the connection and review changes

  1. Confirm the Surefront company and requested permissions on the sign-in or consent screens.
  2. Enable Surefront in the conversation and try a read-only question, such as “Find active products matching Item# 1042.”
  3. For a proposed product change, review the company, Item#, category, current values, and proposed values before approving it.
  4. If the result of a save is unclear, reopen that product in Surefront before trying again.

With write-products permission and your approval of the proposed changes, the connection can create or edit one product at a time. It supports these fields: Item#, name, description, brand, color, material, and UPC. It does not manage orders, prices, inventory, attachments, deletion, archiving, bulk changes, or custom fields. Surefront applies your normal product and category permissions.

ChatGPT and Claude process information returned by tools under their own applicable terms and policies. Review your organization's AI policy and the current Surefront AI Data & Terms before using the connection. Sura protections do not automatically apply to third-party applications or integrations.
