Configure a Sura Web Chat website by entering its name, approved website origins, greeting, appearance, and Knowledge Base sources.
Web Chat requires Knowledge Base management access. If the tab is unavailable, ask your company’s Knowledge Base administrator or Surefront Support to check your access.
Add a website
- Open Sura in a browser and select Web Chat.
- Select Add website.
- Enter a recognizable Name.
- Under Allowed origins, enter one exact website origin per line, including the scheme, such as
https://shop.example.com. - Edit the Greeting and choose a Brand color.
- Choose Bottom right or Bottom left under Position.
- Under Knowledge sources, select the sources intended for this website when options are available.
- Select Save website to submit the configuration, or Cancel to leave without saving.
Review the name, allowed origins, greeting, appearance, and selected sources before saving. The options shown under Knowledge sources depend on what is available to your account.
Install and activate Web Chat
- After saving, find the website in the Web Chat list. A new website starts as Draft.
- Review its knowledge sources and approved origins. Choose only sources your company has approved for website visitors.
- Select Copy install code. Have your website administrator add the generated code to the approved site through its supported custom-code or embedding feature.
- Select Activate when the website configuration and installation are ready. The website card shows its current status.
If install code is unavailable, contact Surefront Support about the environment's public website-chat address. If no knowledge sources are available, add the appropriate material in Knowledge Base and wait for processing before returning to the website configuration.
Manage an existing website
- Use Edit to update the website's origins, greeting, appearance, or source selection.
- Use Customize for that website's available response settings.
- Use Conversation history to review the website's conversations when your role permits it.
- Use Pause to stop the active deployment, and Activate when it is ready to be available again.
